Brian Heffner
Vice President of Modernization, Metro Elevator DC

Brian Heffner is Vice President of Modernization Operations for Metro Elevator DC, where he leads with a focus on safety, quality, and team collaboration.

His approach to business is rooted in honesty, transparency, and responsibility. He believes strong operations are built on respect—for both customers and the people doing the work—and that long-term success comes from consistency and integrity.

With 28 years in the elevator industry, Brian began his career after being introduced to the trade by a working mechanic who encouraged him to pursue an elevator apprenticeship. That introduction led him into a career he credits with shaping both his professional path and personal growth.

He holds an associate’s degree in general studies, has completed the National Elevator Industry Educational Program (NEIEP), and earned OSHA 30 certification. His background in construction runs deep, growing up around the industry through his father’s work as a general contractor superintendent and close family ties to the building trades.

Brian often says “everyone has a story,” reflecting his belief that understanding people’s backgrounds leads to better leadership and stronger teams. He is quick to credit any recognition for safety and efficiency to the teams he has worked alongside throughout his career.

Outside of work, Brian enjoys spending time with his wife, Angie, their four children, son-in-law, and grandson. He also enjoys hands-on building and remodeling projects at home, continuing his lifelong connection to construction and craftsmanship.
